My cakes

I was making and designing wedding and occasional for 12 years, in which time I made cakes bespoke for the BBC and some celebrities as well as my regular customers. Although I loved the creative side of the job, working at home by myself every day was lonely and I got that I needed contact with the outside world. After much thought I decided to go out to work full time. I now work in our local hospital as a nurse in the Out patients department. I still make a few cakes for friends, family and work colleges.
Here are just a few of my creations.

Such a busy week

It's such a busy week, so much to do before the big day on Saturday.
There are times when I feel like I am running on the spot :)
Yesterday I covered the wicker basket for Lily's rabbit. I am giving it to her as a Christening present.
I make so many things that I thought it would be nice for Lily to have something I have made to keep.
I bought three fat quarters of the pink fabric. Measured the size of the bottom and sides of the basket, cut the fabric to size, leaving a good turn over for the top, made a casing in which to thread the elastic through and made a little pillow.

Here is Lily's Christerning cake is finished.

Chloe's hen night

Chloe's Hen night

My Sister went as Lara croft, Chloe as Minnie Mouse and I went as Catwoman.
Chloe bought her outfit from Ebay. I made mine and Debbie made hers.
We had a fab night

Easy to make wall word art

I made this from a piece of ply wood.

I painted the ply a few shades darker than my wall. . I printed the word using my printer and drew over the lettering on the wood.
This gave me a faint outline which I had to draw over again in pencil.
Now the lettering was done , I painted over it using an eggshell paint.
I knocked a couple of nails into the back , added some wire and hung it on the wall.
Just the look I was after and cost me nothing to make.

Two tier wedding cake

This is a wedding cake that I made for a lady at work.
She is getting married on Saturday.

Hand made necklaces

Here are the necklaces I have made.
The Batman one I made from Polymer clay, to go with my Catwoman outfit for Chloe's Hen party on Saturday night.
Method
Background .Roll out a thin layer of Polymer clay cutting into an oval shape. Add two small holes at top edge to thread the cord through.
I printed off the Batman logo from the Internet and used it as a template. Once again roll out a tin layer of Clay and cut around the shape with a craft knife.
Bake in the oven for 10 Min's on 130 (electric oven)
Once backed the pieces will be nice and firm. Allow to cool.
Paint the background with black acrylic paint.
Paint the bat also with the black.
Now for the silver..Umm what doI have that will do that job?
While still damp I used some silver food dusting powder. Strange I know but it works a treat! It will also add shimmer.
Applying while the black paint is still damp holds the shimmer.
Allow to dry and attach the bat to the oval.
Thread cord or ribbon.
Job Done !!
The other is a bead necklace I have made to match in with the hat and handbag which also have the same beads on them.

Fabric doll pattern

Here is the pattern I made to make the body below.

I have had quite a creative spert inbetween making dresses and other bits and pieces for Chloe and Mark's wedding.
Here  are the dolls I have just finished.
All made from scraps of fabric I had laying around.
I dyed some cream cotton fabric with tea for the bodies I used fiber fill . Thee patterns were made up as I went along. So they are totally OOAK.

Wedding hat finished

My hat is finished !
I am quite happy with the results. Should look nice with my silver grey silk dress.
Not long now!
All the Flower girl dresses are done. At last :)
Being such a One of a kind, kinda girl, I found it quite tough going making three of the same dress but I did it..Yipp'ee !!

Just a few of my sweet creations :)

I was featured in the Bride and Groom magazine

Wire man

I got the idea for making this chicken wire man from a gallery. £800 they were selling for!
Umm..That got me thinking...
Off I went to our local DIY store. A roll of chicken wire, wire cutters. Cost £22.00.
I got home and like a mad woman started twisting and bending the wire into the shape I had in mind.
I have an old garden chair tucked amongst some ivy in the garden. A perfect spot for this chap.

Wedding Bells

Not long to go now, until Chloe , Mark and Lily's special day.

How exciting! They are to be married in the village church.Lily will also be christened in the service. It will be a day to remember.

I have written so many lists of things still to do.

I have made Chloe's Tiara, the Flower girls dresses..well, they are almost done, the Dolly bags,

the cake's. Chloe has asked for an ivory three tier cake with ivory roses.

I had my own cake business so it shouldn't be to stressful. The fruit tier is done, I covered it with Marzipan and fondant yesterday. The other two tiers are going to be a chocolate sponge with a chocolate Ganache.

Lily is having a cake too. The topper can be seen above. The bunny will sit on a 6" round sponge cake, with pink fondant.

Rosie Rabbit

Rosie is a newborn baby sized hand sculpted rabbit. She has three quarter limbs.

All placed onto a Doe suede body.
She can be re-dressed and positioned
