Mrs Smith & Richard Fielding were two of my first creations. I wanted to make a couple of every day characters, characters we may see in our street or local shop.
They are both made from Polymer clay with hand stitched clothing.
Mrs smith has been adopted Richard however is for sale.
They both have fixed limbs , Richard's head can be moved around so that he looks in different positions.
If someone told me I would be making dolls a few years ago I would have laughed at them..Me?..making dolls? No..
Cakes, yes but dolls?
I love most things arty.I had my own bespoke cake business for many years. The cakes were a way of expressing my creative side but I am no business woman. I could spend hours designing and making a cake but , as I was told many times "You never charge enough"
My husband was good at telling me that...LOL
My favourite cakes were the ones where I was given an idea by the customer and left to come up with something to suit the occasion. Well, I have put the cake business on the back burner and now work full time in our local hospital. I love my job but I still need to be creative, it's like a calling that I cannot ignore.
I discovered Polymer clay, what a find that was. I can now do what I do without all the clearing up to do in the kitchen...Bliss
I don't tend to have one style of doll or figure as it depends what inspires me at the time. So keep looking, you never know what I will come up with next.
